Old school dungeon crawling! Yay! No pesky story to get in the way of your crawling in this game. Monster Den is a really cool flash RPG, which is similar to Diablo with its randomly generated dungeons, randomized loot, no random battles, and multiple levels of doom. It does differ from Diablo because you get to have a party of four, it's turn based, and you don't get experience.

Yep, no experience. Instead, you gain a level each time you get a level deeper in the dungeon. So, actually, you could go through an entire floor avoiding every enemy. This is a bad idea though, because killing enemies and finding chests is the only way to get new equipment. There is also a boss type monster on each level that gives rare equipment.

Warning: The following may seem like an advertisment. I assure you, it is only because of my fanatical love of this game.

Sam and Max Episode 4: Abe Lincon Must Die. If you don't want to download it just because of the title, you have no sense of humor. Episode 4 is part of a six episode series collectively named, Season One. Cool beans, no? You can get the entire Season One for just $30 or you can buy individual episodes for $9. Except for Episode 4, which they're giving away for free. Hooray!

Sam and Max is one of the most funny games I have played in a long, long time. From the caffeine addicted, teenage senator of West Dakota, "You control the bubbles! The bubbles don't control you!" to the hypnotized president creating pudding embargos to Max, the "hyperkinetic rabbity thing" and his constant lust for cartoony violence and destruction. Every item in the background is funny in some way, shape or form.

The gameplay is standard point and click adventure stuff. From what I've played so far, it doesn't seem too difficult, which is good because it doesn't mean you have to wade through frusteration to get to the next big laugh. The sound is awesome. Nice music and cartoony sound effects. Every line is voice acted and well, at that. The graphics are fitting. Cell shaded, cartoony goodness. My only problem with them is I don't like the way the president looks... but, I guess that just adds realism. =D

Crayon Physics! Fun for the whole family!

Yes. The whole family. Except Uncle Steve, but nobody likes him anyway.

Play with gravity and crayons at the same time! My dream finally a reality! =D In Crayon Physics, you draw shapes to try to get your ball to collect the star in each level. Make another ball on a slope to smash them together to get it rolling in the right direction. You can even do advanced things like build a catapult to launch the ball into the air.

It is a really fun game. Although, it is kind of short. To remedy this, you can download fan made levels off of his site. The author has started working on a 'Crayon Physics Deluxe' which promises to have more levels, improved physics, improved crayons, and a better level editor.

There are also quite a few other games on his site such as one where you must time a sentence over and over in a mock word processor until an error pops up and you must curse into a microphone and smash the keys until it goes away.

Rappelz is a good free MMORPG where you choose to play as what is basically either a dark elf, light elf or wood elf. I did like this games tutorial levels which did a good job of teaching you how to play and figuring out the unique features.

The graphics are great. And there is lots of different types of enemies to be fought. The main problem I have with the game is the quests. They are a bit more repetitive than similar games. I've also heard that leveling slows way down after awhile.

Nexuiz, free FPS elite!

I know what you are thinking. "Nexuiz? I can't even say that! It must suck."

No, it doesn't. It's an awesome multiplayer FPS that has a bunch of neat features and stuffs. For example, you can pick up as much health as you want but it will slowly degenerate back to it's balance point of 100. Also, the secondary fire for the rocket launcher blows up the rocket in mid-flight. The game is full of neat twists like that.

The graphics are awesome. This game does not hog resources like many games do and there are many options to turn down and beef up. There is a lot of customization in general, actually.

I really liked playing this game. =]

N is for Ninja! Any game where you can be a ninja and flip, flop, jump, and slide while avoiding mines and generally look cool is awesome in my book. The goal? Besides looking cool? To collect coins, of course! Because that's what ninja do!

Reloaded

Abandonia Reloaded is a site dedicated to remakes and freeware. They have everything from comercial games to terrible games that require RPG Maker to play. Most of them are good enough for a download though. A few of them are excellent. Read the reviews to find some games that you will like.

Battle for Wesnoth

Warcraft and Civilization fans alike, rejoice! Battle for Wesnoth is a turn based strategy game that otherwise plays like Warcraft with more strategy emphasis. Nice varied unit types, RPG elements, multiple scenarios, a map editor, it's highly modifiable nature, make for a highly polished game that has a high replay value.

No killing stuff? No mindlessly jumping across chasms and bottomless pits? And it's still a GAME? That's insanity! Insanity is probably one of the best words to describe the point and click adventure Out of Order.

With it's off-beat humor and relaxed gameplay it's sure to loved by many. Although, you WILL get stuck. So, I have found and excellent guide for whenever you start to get frusterated. Just in case, here's a second one because I wanted to link to fourfatchicks.com.

Free Multiplayer FPS Games

Itchy trigger finger? To kick off the new year I bring you multiplayer versions of commercial games for Return to Castle Wolfenstien and F.E.A.R. respectively, that are, in fact, free.

Originally to be released an expansion pack for Return to Castle Wolfenstien, Wolfenstien: Enemy Territory was released as freeware. The team who made this went on to make DOOM 3 and Enemy Territory: Quake Wars.

F.E.A.R. Combat is the multiplayer portion of F.E.A.R and was released as a free download. Users of the retail version of F.E.A.R. multiplayer and free users of F.E.A.R. Combat can play online together without problems. That is, until one of them gets tired of being fragged in the face.

So get downloading so you can pwn some n00bs with your BFG!
